The second exhibition of works from Eyebeam's 2004 Residents explores the ways artists have ventured forward from the notion of representation. Increasingly powerful and accessible imaging technologies allow depiction of a world wherein the complexity of the real is rendered beyond what one could see with the naked eye. From docu-fictions to immersive narratives, reconfigured landscapes to new storytelling schemes, these works address the nature of our relationship to the moving image beyond the screen, as well as our perception of architecture and space in a world that is increasingly permeated by images |

My thesis project "The Three Graces" was bringing each of the graces to life - from their individual creation as one of the elements (fire, water, wind) to their final destination as a “reunited” statue, forming the symbolic embrace of unity. Once again they frooze in time. All of this was achieved within the three months of my final semester at NYU's Center for Advanced Digital Application. The tools used included Motion Capture, 3D modeling & particle systems in Maya and 2D compositing in After Effects and Combustion. |
